I am thinking about going to Crete in the half term and was wondering if anyone can advise where to stay. Bringing our 15 and 13 yr old girls who like to swim and love to snorkel, listen to ipods etc, hate kids clubs. We also love to swim snorkel lie on the beach and soak up the sun. We hate crowded beaches and being on top of each other. In the evenings we tend not to stay out late but like to et out somewhere different every night and although we love the fish and traditional food, the girls like more "normal" food as they call it, although they will try stuff thats a bit different.

At that time of year where would be good to stay? Obviously we do not want to be too isolated especially if the weather is wet. I assume it wouldn't be too packed? I have been looking at Stallis, Herssonisos & Eloundra.

I had also been looking for Crete maybe for next summer (before we thought we needed a week away very soon!), the south of the island looks fab, but just for a week its a long transfer and I have not been able to find out much about the areas as yet so wasn't sure whether to try there in October.

I also take it, it would not be as hot as say lanzarote at that time of year? We are also looking at Lanzarote and Turkey, have been to Lanzarote (seems to be pricey mind at mo) before and enjoy the just chilling, never been to Turkey.
