Did it have a very dark brown crunchy bread in it?? Quite often the the Cretans will add "dakos" to their salads along with mizithra soft cheese.

Apart from the dark bread, I think all the other ingredients depend on the taverna. The bread is actually called paximadi not dakos - dakos is a sort of Cretan salad which has paximadi, chopped tomatoes and soft cheese in it, with herbs - it's my favourite lunch!
