Has anyone heard anything about these stories about Crocs causing electric shocks? Sounds a bit far fetched.

I would think that it's perfectly possible but not of the sort that will cause any danger. Crocs insulate you from the ground and hence instead of static electricity 'leaking away' gradually, it builds up in your body and then the moment you touch or even get close to something that is earthed it will arc and you'll get a shock. The effect and likelihood of it happening will depend on circumstances - some people do just seem to build-up static more easily but wearing polyester or nylon clothes will exacerbate the effect and the effects tend to be worse in hot, dry conditions ie ideal holidy weather!

Crocs won't be any worse for this than any other rubber or plastic footwear such as flip-flops but if you only wear them on holiday or in hot, dry conditions then it means that it is more likely to be noticeable. It's not the Crocs per se but the situations in which a lot of people tend to wear them that can make the static shocks more noticeable and hence why people come to associate the shock with the Croc :-)

I got a shock the other day when I bent down to pick something up from the ground. My friends little girl also got a shock as our hands touched.I didnt think about it being because of wearing crocs,or in my case mock crocs!.

The service from Fatshoes is terrible. :rage Delivery was late, so I emailed them twice asking when I would receive my Crocs but got no reply. When I tried phoning they were always engaged. I ended up sitting repeatedly pressing the redial button, and eventually got through after about 15 minutes. The guy on the end of the phone had a couldn't care less attitude. :bhead
I'll never use them again. :wlink

Hi

Crocs turned up today from fatshoes, just hope they fit now.

Went into town this morning and saw some fakes ones for £3.99, so if my two don't absolutely love the crocs to bits then they can have some cheap ones.

CAN;'T BELIEVE IT, JUST WENT AND LOOKED AGAIN AT THE CROCS THAT TURNED UP TODAY, BOTH THE SAME SIZE, BUT LOOK VERY DIFFERENT TO EACH OTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!One pair is a lot wider.

It could be that one pair is Caymans and the other Beach, which are wider. Unfortunately it doesn't say on the shoes which type they are.

Luci - right, I didn't know they did them in different widths. The one pair fit lovely but the second pair are far too wide. I had a panic when I discovered earlier that they were different and have ordered some more from beachmonkey, had a mail earlier to say they have been dispatched tonight too! We go away on Wednesday so really hope they come in time.

I ordered cayman so don't know why they would have sent me beach :( , they are just a slightly different colour too.

Well my Crocs from Fatshoes turned up today - but they were the wrong colour!!!!! Seems to me that Fatshoes are a total :swear shambles.

Hi

Well, have to hand it to Beachmonkey, ordered online at about 2.45pm yesterday and they arrived early this morning recorded delivery!!!!! :D Only thing was they were the same wide version as the one pair from Fatshoesday. I am totally confused over this. All four pairs say they're a 2 and W4 !!!!! Yet one pair is slimmer fitting, all have the same bar code number on too.

So, today we went into Solihull and luckily found a few shops selling crocs. My daughter ended up with the fuschia pink in a size 1 (2 was far too big for her) these seemed to be a slimmer fitting too. My other daughter is keeping the slimmer fitting pair that came from fatshoedays. Just about to parcel them all back up and get them sent off Tuesday as we go away Wed, fatshoesday do send you the postage cost but I just want them sent back asap.

Have to say though, MY KIDS LOVE THEM :D Even the one who wasn't bothered either way if she had them or not. They both said they are great for running round in as they feel like they are bouncing!

They gave me a very funny look when I tried some on in the shop though

Well I finally gave in and got a fake pair Skechers I think they are from the Donnay shop in Livingston. £9.99 and light blue they are fab. Feel a bit funny at first

I posted info on page 4 of this thread but in a nutshell it depends on where the Crocs are manufactured as to the size. Generally, the ones made in Boulder, Colorado are wider than the ones made anywhere else. I've got a pair from Boulder, pairs from China, Mexico and Romania and the Chinese ones are about half a size smaller than the Boulder ones. The others are somewhere in between. they all state size M7/W9 on the bottom.

If you order any online, or are getting them off ebay, see if you can get the seller to tell you the country of manufacture on the bottom of the shoe. That way you'll know if they will be the right size for you.

Hi

Well my daughters have worn their crocs all round the shopping centre now and the other night we walked into mcdonalds and quite a few people turned round and looked at them as they walked in. Luckily my daughters are identical twins so are used to people looking at them a lot. They're not bothered with people looking, they love their crocs and don't care if their friends don't like them!!! :D Bet most of them have crocs before the summers out!

I bet they do, especially now Katie Price ( Jordon) has been seen wearing them in all different colours. Ive been saying since last yr they will become a fashionable shoe. It only takes one celebrity to be seen wearing them and all the youngsters will want them

Bought a pair of grey/silver caymens today. Havent taken them off yet. I love them. :D Thought I would start with just the one pair so bought a colour that would go with lots of things, but I have a feeling I could be purchasing a few more. Cotton Candy or pale pink perhaps? So comfy.
