Angie,

Thank you so very much for your help!!! :tup

Are pesos easy enough to get your hands on? We fly out on Saturday from Glasgow. Can't wait but wish I'd kinda got my finger out a bit more! Way too much packing to do tonight! :que

Thanks again!

Goldie :sun2 - well, almost!

I usually have to order my pesos which takes a few days, so I would think that as you are leaving on Sunday you are a bit short of time.
Where are you staying? :think

Sorry meant to type Saturday, fingers faster than brain. :rofl

Yeah I figured that :( Never mind, we'll get them there. I think we'll take about £50 Sterling in USD - so $100 USD for arrival/tipping then change the rest as and when required!

Staying at BlueBay Villas - seems really nice, good reviews etc so can't complain! To be honest I never really pay attention to what others say as you make what you can out of a holiday in my opinion!

Sooooo excitied!!! :D You off soon?

Hello,

I'm heading out there on the 22nd August and have been told by my sister (Thomas Cook Travel Agent) that the currency in the dominican republic is 'Dominican peso' but US Dollars is also accepted by many places for tours etc..

Hope this helps.

Can anyone please tell me if they have tried using one of these Prepaid currency cards in Mexico.
I am due to go there at the end of August and wondering if one of these cards are ok to get and if
they are widely accepted in bars, restaurants etc.

Hi jabron56,
When we went to Mexico actually Cancun we took Pesos and found we had more of a bargaining power with the Pesos, even though Cancun is very Americanized more for the Americans and of course the $$$is used by them.
I usually find wherever we go on holiday its best to take the local currency.
