Goldilocks,
On our regular visits we take pesos, for tipping and buying souvenirs. But I know many people do take $1 bills for tipping.
We take sterling cash and keep it in the safe because if you take traveller cheques you dont get such a good exchange rate as cash. Then change as needed.
Only take $$$ for tourist card on entry or enough for departure tax if this not included in your holiday price.
Angie
Thank you so very much for your help!!!
Are pesos easy enough to get your hands on? We fly out on Saturday from Glasgow. Can't wait but wish I'd kinda got my finger out a bit more! Way too much packing to do tonight!
Thanks again!
Goldie - well, almost!
Where are you staying?
Sorry meant to type Saturday, fingers faster than brain.
Staying at BlueBay Villas - seems really nice, good reviews etc so can't complain! To be honest I never really pay attention to what others say as you make what you can out of a holiday in my opinion!
Sooooo excitied!!! You off soon?
Goldie x

Hi Sunderland
Does anyone know what 540 dominican pesos are worth in English pounds? It is in 500 note and two 20 notes.
Hi,
Thanks for that, our sons mate had 540 pesos and was desparate to change it.
Hi we are off to Riviera Maya, Mexico, should we take us dollars or pesos
When we went to Mexico actually Cancun we took Pesos and found we had more of a bargaining power with the Pesos, even though Cancun is very Americanized more for the Americans and of course the $$$is used by them.
I usually find wherever we go on holiday its best to take the local currency.
Angie.
