Hello Finsgran and welcome to HT
I believe there are a few shops and restaurants outside the hotel and Hammamet is only a short distance away and which has a full range of shoping should you require it.
Excursions - which is best, through the rep or can they be booked locally?
How uncomfortable is the camel ride? I suffer with a lower back problem and I'm wondering if I'd manage?
Anyone know if the hotel has finished it's refurbishment?
It seems a good hotel slightly mixed reviews on it, went into local travel agents to be told its the worst hotel they had ever stayed at.
This put us off booking after she read reviews from other agents saying they had food Poisioning and it was terrible place to go.
Has anyone been recently and know what its like, don't want to book and find it to be horrible but also don't feel that the travel agent wanted to sell us this holiday either.
Didn't hear about any food poisoning, if it did happen it's more likely to have been caused by the hotel guests not washing their hands when they go to the toilet and then going straight into the restaurant. It became a bit of a personal campaign while I was there. "Excuse me, there's the tap, there's the soap, WASH YOUR HANDS!" People can be disgusting and that's not the hotel's fault.
