I just read this message on a closed Goa group I am a member of in FB:
Hi, To all that frequent Rabbie Burns in Calangute,I am sorry to inform you that Davie passed away this morning due to a heart attack. Condolences to Jill and all his family in Goa and Scotland. God bless you Davie.
I am so stunned and shocked and sad, I can hardly take this in. My head in spinning. Its just so awful and so unexpected.
RIP Davie
I had the great pleasure to meet both Davy and Jill numerous times in there bar in Calangute, as a gang we always made a point in visiting their place every year just to see how they were all doing. You were always made welcome by both Davy and Jill and the boys.
Such a sad and tragic loss, our hearts and sympathies go out to Jill and family.
Rest in Peace Davy boy.....
They were a lovely couple Bin, its absolutely tragic
Very sad, such a nice guy was Davie, rest in peace big man
Gemma I could not bring myself to put this on yesterday when I was told, I was devastated and saddened for the loss of a great man, a man who enjoyed life and would help anyone, my thoughts are with Gill and all the family.
Sorry to hear this, was this the bar on the CSM road?
No Martin the first Rabbie burns bar was just off the calangute road to baga but the new one opened two season's ago in Calangute where Jungle village use to be just before royal foods on the roundabout.
Devastating news.
Apart from being an ex soldier he also did the Marathon Des Sables, he told me about the training that he did for this event which was a feat in it's self.
