We are a student group planning on making day trips to Madrid and Barcelona from our holiday base in Costa Brava. Any suggestions for the best place to stay taking travel and facilities into account?

getting to surrounding area's and Barcelona would be easy enough they have a good rail and bus service...... Madrid might be a bit tougher as you would probably need to fly i dont think there is a direct rail service.........try
