Have stayed at Grand Resort twice, in March 2005 and 2006, and over the road at Grand in June 2006 and really like the hotels. Stayed on half board basis which suited us just fine!

The Grand and Grand Resort are ideally placed if you like to have a wander - there are plenty of shops and a few bars locally or you can easily catch a bus or taxi into Sekalla (the main part of Hurghada) or downtown Dahar. Be prepared for the hassle in the shops but if you treat it lightly and don't let it bug you it can be fun! The Hard Rock Cafe is only about 5 minutes walk away.

Whilst at the Resort this year we paid a supplement to spend a day all inclusive at Grand Makadi and Makadi Palace complex. The hotels are adjacent to each other and when we went one could use the facilities of either. Seem to think I've read somewhere that they are 'separating' but don't know if this happened. The hotels seemed quite isolated but there is a occasional free shuttle bus to Grand Resort.
