Hi
Going to the Delphin Palace at the end of April. Have just received a letter from Thomas Cook saying work is being carried out opposite the hotel, anybody tell us if there is a lot of noise. Also what is the best currency to take is? What is the public bus service like (if they have one) to Antayla and finally any other good places to visit. Thanks Sue
hi going in july ,cant help with the info on buiding work but they take mainly euros in that area,as we went along there last summer,
What??? We are going to Delphin Palace tomorrow and have received no such letter. Won't be happy if it's noisy. Will try and post from over there.
We are going in September with First Choice and have had nothing from them about any building work, but i will be asking them!!!
Can't help with building work, we went last September, however, if you have paid for a sea view room, you should not be affected as these are at the front and side on hotel, standart rooms are at the back.
Definetly take Euro's not Lira. The hotel runs a free bus to Antalya, departing at 10 am, you need to book at reception tho as it's always popular
Emma
Yes, there is building work opposite the hotel. You will not hear a thing. Bus Service is a Dolmüş and No is 105. You will have to ask Reception re times. I guess that it passes by my house about every 30 minutes.Price is 1.15 YTL.Enjoy your holiday.
Emma, anyone who pays in Euro's will be Ripped off. I live here so I know. There are two different price list's , one in Lira and one in Euros for the Europeans. Also, change your money in Turkey. It's a far better rate.
Rik, what is the best way to change money when in Turkey. We are staying at the Delphin Palace next month and have always brought euros with us.
Hi Cuflley.the best place to change money is at a Bank. The Hotels and change places will give you a very poor rate.In saying that there are no Banks anywhere near you will be.Change some money at the Post Office in the UK and enough to last you for a few days.Take Lira !. The nearest Bank is a Taxi Ride away, opposite the G mall centre in Lara. Marks & Spencers are also there so the Taxi Guy should know it. Good Luck and enjoy your holiday. Delpfin Palace is Fantastic you will have a wonderful time.
Hi Ian, we have been to Lara beach several times. We have never been to Lara itself - how do we get there? is it far? and what is there? Thanks in advance for your help. Denny
Hi Denny. Lara is very large and spread out. There is the coast road down to TanÅŸaÅŸ and Carrefour ( Supermarkets ) but not a great deal else. You have to go into Antalya to see anything or for your Mrs to spend your money. You will have a good Holiday at The Delphin Palace.
Trying to get a price for this hotel for a week in April 2009 from Glasgow, but don't seem to be able to get it to show anywhere.
Delphin Palace is a good hotel but what makes it better is their service mentality. They have 2 more hotels in Alanya, Botanik and Delphin De Luxe. Botanik is a paradise for families and children having a very strong family concept. And Delphin Palace is good for couples in double rooms with its luxury service. I have stayed in all and I highly recommend them.
But i would like to know if shampoo and shower gel etc are supplied at DP. Many thanks in advance.
Xanadu is a very good resort but maybe little bit old. In my opinion Delphin Palace has a more active concept. And about the shower gel etc., they re all in the room,no worry..
Wendy, where did you get your price for 2009? I can't get it to come up anywhere.
TC quoted me for two weeks in august for 3 people £3887. The co-op or Future Travel got it for me for £3600. With extra luggage and meals. I could PM you the details if you need them, or you could barter with TC. I will be booking it this weekend. Sea star has made my mind up for me.
I would recommend that you should not pay in Euros during your holiday. It's better to change them into YTL at a post office or a bank. But when I mean a post office it must be an official post office so called PTT in Turkey. Never ever change money at the airport bank where you get the luggage, it is like a legal robbery. And I would recommend you to see Kemer area and also Alanya to see other places, your tour operator must be offering daily trips to these regions. And I would like to hear WendyWu's comments after her holiday, I feel kind of responsible now
Well seastar i need to pick your brains. I had thought at the Delphin Palace you could use the A'la Carte restaurants as much as you wanted during your stay. This was one of the things i liked about the Xanadu. But someone has just posted on Trip Advisor that you can only book 3 times in a one week period. Or is this because they are still in winter mode!
I went last November I booked it last September and it was great. However I am trying to book it again now for November time again yet I can't find anywhere that will let me book. Is it all full for November or something? I booked last time with First Choice.
