Sorry to hear that the cat has been abandoned and I'm afraid I can't do anything about rehoming her but I was wondering if the cat had only recently started living with the other cats and the dogs. It can take months for cats to accept each other, as I know only too well. I have an old cat that I've had for about 13 years and she had the place to herself until two tom cats started coming around. She usually saw off any strange cat that entered the garden and there were certainly some scary fights, not only between her and the toms but the toms fought each other as well. This went on for several months but they have now all settled down together. I had one of the tom cats "done" and he's gone from being a very thin, scared cat to a huge cuddly softie. The other tom hasn't been done and he rolls on his back when he sees the other cat, just to let him know that he's not going to cause any more trouble. My cat just puts up with them. They sleep next to each other and the big tom cat licks my cat which she usually (but not always) puts up with.

I've told you all this so that you can see that even sworn enemies can eventually settle down together, once they've sorted out their differences so maybe there's no need for the cat to have to be found another home. I hope everything turns out OK in the end.

Thanks Spindles,

I know my freinds have been trying to look after this abandoned cat, since December, its not so much the other two cats, its the fact my friends have two dogs, which they rescued.

The two cats they have, always stay away from the dogs, but the abandoned cat, Deli, will walk around the dogs, and sadly one of them attacked her last week, luckily there was someone in the house to stop it getting any worse.

If they thought the cat would be afraid of the dogs, and would stay away they would try and perservere, but I think something terrible will happen if the dog gets his teeth on her again.

What I find really sad, is the fact that a family had taken the cat in, then for what ever reasons, they then left Turkey, (paying to take their dog home, to the UK!) but made no attempt to rehome the cat.

So if there is someone out there that can help, please p.m.

Jo I hope you resolve this problem, and I also hope this raises awareness to expats coming out here- if you have a pet please think carefully about bringing it out here as if things dont work out for you and you want to return its going to mean six months quarantine for the animal. Further if you take on an animal out here please dont just abandon it because your situation changes, find someone to care for it.
