We had a family room and a double room too. Family room being soo much better although our land view family room was only a double bed, single bed and single fold down seatee. Double room is either only two single beds or a double bed.
If you don't like heights (the lift is all glass apart from the roof and floor) then make sure the maximum floor number you get is 4 which is 5 levels up from the ground. 7 is the highest level and to start with you are a bit shaky in the lift as it seems so high up but soon it becomes a daily, non-scary thing. We were room 614 (which is level 6 of course).
We return on September 21st 2009 for two weeks as we loved every minute of the hotel last September/October.
Ignore any bad reviews and we took water, juice, chocolate, crisps etc up to our rooms and never got caught or fined. We are lead to believe they mean no hot food or drink up to the rooms like from the buffet etc although I cannot gurantee.
Maxie please do not score this hotel off your possible list just because of that, we knew of no one getting fined out of our whole two week stay. You would love this hotel honest, we wouldn't be returning if it wasn't good. Also we are a decent typical family who loves Altinkum and have stayed in loads of Turkish hotels (this being the first all inclusive) and this is by far the best!
Please note if you have children who may be running around the poolside get them pool shoes (shoes to wear in and out of the pool) as a friend of mine (who we met on holiday) who was fourteen at the time slipped and split his head open. This resulted in not being allowed in the pool or direct sunlight because of his stiches.
Anymore questions just ask!
Morgan xx
Thanks Morgan
thanks.
Hi has anyone been here recently, i've read mixed reviews, dont really know what to expect xxx Thanks in advance xxx
Had a look over on Trip Advisor - 8 reviews in for July - only one of them 'bad'.
I wouldn't worry - relax and enjoy your holiday - we are at Garden of Sun in Didim on 10th August for 2 weeks and the reviews are worse than your hotel

I think it might have been those reviews that got Valski worried

Hi Valski, we went to Didim Beach in June for 2 weeks. First few day s were a nightmare due to room mix ups. My parents were with us and should have been in same block as us. We were in Elegance which in my opinion was fab we had a huge balcony with 4 sunloungers on plus a table and 4 chairs, the room was spotless. My parents were in the Didim main hotel over looking the pool where a cockadoodle doo over the pool speakers will wake you up if you sleep past 10am their room was nice to but not as modern as ours, we had a plasma tv in our bedroom!! We never had a problem getting sun loungers round pool or on the beach, The beach is fabulous and has the Marina beach bar on (independant from hotel) with the most friendly staff serving ice cold drinks and fresh cooked food and great prices. We found the hotel food really good lots of choice and chefs cooking various things outside. If you drink lager you will be disappointed as it is flat and watery my O/H paid for bottles of Efes from the bars. If you want to know anything else just ask.
Hiya thanks for all the feedback i'm just going to go with an open mind and enjoy. Everyone else enjoy the summer xxxx
Hi my neice and boyfriend have split up so she had to cancel her holiday with all the family, she paid £200 cancel fee as they were going to charge her the same price for 1 as for the 2 of them in under occupancy fee's. WE have blooked at flights costing £261 with thomson but would like to ring hotel see if they could offer her cheaper accomodation, could anyone possibly direct me to where i would find the number of the hotel thanks a lot Valski xxx
