The details on my invoice are what I understood that I booked - I didn't pay the extra for luggage or meals so it states 15 KG allowance and no in-flight meals.
However, my tickets have arrived and they state 20 KG luggage allowance and that in-flight meals are included.
Presuming that I don't receive anything further in respect of my holiday, can I safely assume that the details on the tickets are what I will actually get? Or can they claim it was an error when we check in?
The 20KG allowance would be nice, but I don't want it enough to get charged for excess baggage.
It's a Manos holiday flying with Thomas Cook Airlines.

I would of said if your ticket says 20KG and in flight meals that is what you should get ;). It could be a change of airline from that on your original booking.Is the flight number still a thomas cook number ??. I ask this because i have just booked with direct holidays, also part of the same group and I was offered a thomas cook flight , whereby you had to pay for extra luggage allowance and meals but I chose a different flight that is operated my monarch and full luggage allowance and in-flight meals automatically included .

Manos were part of Airtours / My Travel and are now part of Thomas Cook Group following the merger. The flight would originally be on My Travel, now Thomas Cook. Manos, being a tour operator offer different allowance to TCX customers, as per your tickets. If you were a TCX customer, you wouldn't have the extras as part of the package. Go off the information printed on your tickets.

Yes. Tickets are used to confirm your flight details and luggage allowance. In any case, if you arrive at the airport and it was only 15kg, the fact you have 20kg printed on your tickets makes you in the right, and the ticket issuer in the wrong. If in doubt, give them a call to confirm it.

Random, i just received my tickets from Airtours but flying with Thomas Cook and they have done the same with us too.

My only worry is that it will turn our to be some sort of system error and that they will try to enforce what was on the original invoice and not the actual ticket. Should make for some fun scenes at check-in!
Still, people here seem to think that the ticket overrides any other documentation.

I think you will be fine with the checkin allowance as you will be using your tickets at that point . Dont know about other airlines now but thomson always seem to now have a print out sheet of who has meals booked .if they have that system you may not be so lucky with the meals but just show them your ticket and cant see there would be any argument if you want them . You may get an announcement spill to make you feel guilty before they serve the meals saying dont take one if you havnt paid because there may not be enough for the passengers that have but in my experince I see loads of left over trays of dinners going back on the trolly.
I would say whatever it says on your tickets is what you should go by - it's the tickets which are presented at check-in, not your invoice. Just be careful the 20kg doesn't actually mean 15kg hold luggage and 5kg hand luggage.

I suppose if someone was being pedantic it doesn't actually qualify whether the 5 kgs hand luggage is included in the 20 KGs or not, although I think it would be disingenuous to print 20 KGS if it was really only 15 KGS.

Don't panic!! For clarification on Manos baggage allowances, as per my previous posts, refer to the baggage conditions on Manos website. Your allowances are as per your tickets, ie 20kg hold and 5kg hand luggage.

Having a look at the Manos guidance I noticed this bit:
"Note that you will be asked at the check-in desk if all electrical equipment has been packed in your hand luggage."
Including work related trips I normally fly at least 5 times a year and I can't ever remember being asked to confirm that all electrical items are in my hand luggage.

Just a quick check please, flying out with Thomascookairlines on Tuesday to Majorca, I presume its still OK to pack electrical stuff (phone charger, MP3 charger, plugs) in the hold luggage?

Mmmm. Thats confusing me as well. I wouldn't want to put GHD's or Cameras in the hold, far too expensive and prime targets for being nicked.

Not so long ago another airline had missed printed their cheap class tickets with a 40kgs hold luggage allowence on a flight bound for Pakistan.........Pakistani bound passengers usually take everything but the kitchen sink with them so you can imagine the delight with an improved baggage allowence of 40kgs printed on their ticket......we just had to honor the weight as it was there in black and white on their ticket...must say thou, the airline hasnt made that mistake again!
If it is a mistake, it is not your fault and you are entitled to what it says.

No wonder the old 747-200's PIA used to use were so heavy at take off if they made those kinds of mistakes!! It was always amazing how much runway the 742's used at MAN. It was all legal and within limits, but rotations were normally within a few hundred meters of the end of the runway. Quite scary to watch!

luggage allowences are funny things you would think the airlines would get together and make it the same acroos the board to aviod confusion

I really dont think avoiding confusion is high on the airlines lists of priorities.
I would imagine they are looking at the bottom line and trying to bring in a profit. They are not known for being alturistic organisations doing thing for the common good.
