I am exactly like you Maz. Good breakfast, nothing much all day, maybe the odd beer but lots and lots of walking in the heat.
Come evening time I'm at the trough and usually ordering more than I can eat plus copious amounts of high calorie alcohol.
Amazed that I lost weight after 3 weeks last time !

i sometimes think i`m quite sad as a huge part of my holday in goa is about food,i even can`t wait until around november when the restaurant thread comes up and i start planning where we will eat,but don`t tend to put on too much weight(thankfully)because of not eating much during the day.but i think my liver shudders at the thought of 3 weeks in goa!!!

Meals are a big part of my holiday too, but we find the heat during the day dulls our appetite, so we don't eat much at lunchtime.

I usually stay the same weight or lose about 3 lbs; my liver on the other hand is probably pleased to be back home again having had to endure loads of G&Ts and Kingfisher Beers!

Hi don't worry about food in Goa you can get anything and everything you want to eat. From the hottest curries to fish and chips to plain and simple porridge or boiled/fried/scrambled eggs. You'll love Goa roll on november.Barbs

On my last three trips I've came home thinner - but they were 10 years ago and I'm like madasharley and don't eat spicy food. Choice was very limited then and I remember living on bread, pizza, narn bread and soup.

So looking foward to all the choice now so with a 3 week stay I'm expecting to get fatter (and I'm taking stretchy clothes!!) :rofl

I always put weight on - 6lbs last time when we went for 3 weeks but I am like debs16. We have already got every restaurant planned for the 3 weeks we go in December and still can't fit everything in. We do eat well every lunch time as well although we don't eat until 9 at the earliest in the evening except for when we go to the meet ups when we eat at 8 pm. Can't bear to think I am going to miss out on something nice. Love the food in Goa, one of the main reasons we go besides the meet ups of course!

Lost about a stone during my second week there last time.... dysentry is the pits :(

I usually lose weight while I'm there with all the walking I do (which I don't do here) a far more enjoyable method for weight loss I would say :tup

Best health farm on the planet :)

First few years i was going to Goa i would lose weight but then i bought a scooter and never walked anywhere so the weight piled on as i wasnt walking anywhere. Only way for me to keep the weight off is to not to eat rice with curry . My weight doesnt go up. I would love to have rice with curries as i live on curries in Goa but i just balloon up there, and have pictures of me with the "Goan belly "

I definately come home thinner.
Little rice and lots of walking up and down the beach helps me loose the weight.

Our first time to Goa about 11 years ago, we each lost a stone in 2 weeks and got the best suntan we've ever had.
Combined with a little room in a roof with no aircon, vindaloo's and boiled rice in Bob's Inn, seawater warmer than a bath, getting up to pour buckets of cold water over ourselves in the middle of the night and STILL not being able to get dry because of the sweat......it turned into the best holiday we've ever had and probably why we try and recreate it every few years but have never had it as hot or humid.

However....the restaurants are a lot more tempting now with far more English-Indian creamy dishes, we booze more, and you can get biscuits and chocolate far more easily.....so we don't lose weight at all now !

Love the food in Goa but the curse of the second week always seems to strike us.The heat seems to dull our appetite so I suppose we have a more or less neutral weight situation.

i diet before i go and then i eat and drink what ever i want and i come home the same weight! i eat a full brekky, lunch at the shack and then out for drinks and evening meal. most days i say 'i'm taking it easy today, but then i see the menu - and thats that!! i can diet to my hearts content when i'm home but after dreaming and planning and remembering all those meals from last time theres no way i'm even going to contemplate - or worry- about my weight!!
