Well said nursynewcastle. Like most people have said it's the start of your holidays to relax and chill out. We always have a drink in the airport no matter what time of day and a couple on the plane it makes the journey fly by :rofl The only problem is, when you have a delayed flight and one or two become three and four, but were not young kids and can handle it and don't do harm to anyone else so I don't see it as a problem. :cheers

Personally haven't and wouldn't BUT certainly wouldn't condemn anyone else for doing so - each to their own and all that!

hi we also have a drink or 2 at the airport after looking aroubd the shops and getting something to eat, weve had an early morning flight before i didnt know if i was going to have one at the airport or if the bar would even be open but it was and we did! i tend to have something like a wkd or smirnof ice, this starts the holiday off nicely and calms my nerves slighlty!

yep the holiday always starts for me when i get to the airport or even when the front door is closed behind us if i havnt got to drive to the airport and this yr i havent so... off to alcudia in 1 1/2 weeks!

oh heck, i've booked my 2010 holiday and my flight leaves at 6.35am...i don't think i can get away with being in the bar that early...i don't even know if its open that early in Glasgow! Ah well it'll just need to be diazepam that gets me on the flight lol

HI Leanne. We had them open the bar especially for us once. I think it was about 6am, although we have had a drink at the bar earlier than that :really

We did indeed Shirley - we asked them to open it at 5.30 am & when they did it wasn't long before a queue had formed. Hubby & I have been in hte airport at 3am before today & the bar has been open.

woohoo...just done a search on Glasgow airport website for bars etc lol, the one before security is open from 4am and also does breakfast :D there are 4 after security (3 do food aswell :D), 1 of them is open from 4am, 2 of them are 24 hour for all international departing flights, and one of them doesn't have opening times on the website but it the one that doesn't do food!

hazm - This Easter was the 1st time I have ever seen anyone taking their own drink to the airport. We were sitting in the check in hall at Cardiff & a couple next to us had 2 cans of beer & a bottle of bacardi with them. They said they always bring something with them in case the bar is closed. ;)

Airports tend to operate on the same terms as bars. You cant drinks your own alcohol on the premises for licencing purposes!

These two went to sit outside the check in hall, so they caould have a ciggie as well

Surprising how popular Bristol airport is to us travellers who enjoy a tipple!
Do we all come from the same area, I wonder?
