If so, what kind of car do you pull it with?
At the moment we have a Citroen Xantia estate, 2ltr diesel, but is a little tired, it currently pulls our rather long 6 berth caravan.
(I have a Picasso 1.6ltr diesel but don't think it'll pull), and were debating getting a Citroen C8 to pull?
Any comments?
You don't say what the all up weight of your van is
why don't you check out
http://www.cuddles.abelgratis.net/kerbweights.htm
ignore the url it's part of the Clicreports website and it has links for different car manufacturers so you can find out what different cars 85% ratio's are the C8 goes from 1775 - 1850 depending on which option you choose
We have a 13 foot 3 inch Compass Rallye, and we tow with a Nissan Primera 2 litre, hubby won`t tow with anything smaller. You definitely shouldn`t attempt to tow a 6 berth with a Picasso 1.6.
I don't know anything about towing BUT I do have a C8.
You seem to like Citroens as your other cars have been this make I don't think i will ever but one again.!
My C8 bought new nearly 3 years ago has
had a fault which just showed a "STOP" light on the dash when reading the manual said DO NOT DRIVE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, so we had it towed away and had a hire car in its place, the Citroen dealer then had to replace parts of the computer to delete this fault, but it made me think there was really something major and dangerous for us not to drive it.
It has had a new tyre after 7000 miles, and all other three replaced at
14, 000 miles , seems very heavy on tyres.
After being parked up at the airport car park for 2 weeks last December the heater system had stopped working, we had to drive back to Cardiff from Bristol at 2 in the morning with the windows down to keep the windscreen clear. This fault cleared itself after 4 days.
It has had new brake pads and discs as they were badly worn down at 22, 000 miles. the dealership said Oh you do a lot of stop and start then yes it is earlier than expected but thats why. Its a family car, of course we do lots of smallish journeys, you know what iis like with kids.
It has been back to have the passenger side sliding door runners realigned as the door wasn't shutting properly.
Plus about 5 recalls for other things that needed looking at., like brake fluid pipes, air conditioning unit etc.
Its doing my head in!!
Judith
Ahhh Judith!! Just came home with a C8 on Monday after several days of 'will we/won't we'! Not to worry I guess, I've never had a problem with Citroen and I guess seeing as my brother specialises in them in the garage he owns is a plus. Will look out for that fault with the 'stop driving' thing...it's such an investment though...lets hope it'll pull ! Bit late now I guess, ferry leaves next week and the tow bar is being fitted a few days before hand !!! The joys!
I have a ford KA and it deffo wouldn't pull my compass rallye so have mine sited
