Mum and I stayed in on the East coast about 5 years ago for two weeks in mid May and it was very humid, more so than our usual December holiday there. We were very lucky because although we had some tropical downpours the whole of the week before we arrived was like a continual monsoon according to the people on their second week.
I don't know if I'm just lucky but in 11 visits to the Caribbean the weather has never spoilt the holiday, yes I've got soaked to the skin on occasions but the rain is so warm it didn't matter and it rarely lasts long anyway.
