Hi,
they give the forms out on the plane (take a pen with you), fill them in and then stand in the line to pay, you then go through immigration. i know soem people say to buy them in advance but i dont see the point, you still have to stand in the queue for immigration and then have to wait for your luggage anyway.

Thanks for that it makes sense now.

Hi, I am little bit lost. If I purchased the holiday through First Choice, do I still have to purchase visa on arrival? Or is only departure tax included in price? Any advise would be greately appreciated.

Its $10 dollars to get in (tourist visa) $20 dollars to get out departure tax per person.

Yes sadly you will still be liable for the $10 and $20 per person.

The tourist visa can be purchased prior, but there seems little point, the coach will have to wait for everyone before departing the airport, if you bought prior or just paid at the airport.

The departure tax is payable on exit at the airport, its $20 per person.

Hope that helps a little.

Hi,
Im off to the dom rep next week, have received our tickets from first choice but there was no visa for us to fill in (we went to cuba with them earlier this year and the visa's arrived with the tickets).
I'M just wondering if anyone can tell me if the visa's are purchased on arrival at the airport??
Many thanks in advance.
Katie.

yeah you have to get them when you land. they are called tourist cards & cost $10 each and there is a person standing at a desk and all you do is pay them and they give you a card & then you hand that over to the people that stamp your passport (cant remember what they are called haha). Really simple & easy.

you also have to fill in visa's and had to fill these in when we landed but as we were in premier we were grateful there wasnt much of a que! The first choice rep said that sometimes they are handed out on the plane and sometimes they aint!
