Pretty sure it can only be booked through tour companies and all inclusive. There are other hotels you can book nearby by the night

Have a look at http://www.palmgroveresidencygoa.com or http://www.saodomingosgoa.com both are nice small hotel/guest house in Cavelossim and are clean etc. and would be a lot cheaper than the D.S. (which I think you'll truggle to only book two nights) and you could book in advance for a couple of days. Though the second of your weeks would be better as a lot of people go for xmas and new year.
p.s. We will be staying at The Palm Grove next season and I know several regulars to Sao Domingo's (who have also opened a new guest house last season nearby)

Drop them an e mail (though sometimes his e mail doesn't work properly but I also have phone numbers if you need them). The owners name is Laurence (really nice guy) but I would think at that time of year it will be harder to haggle so probably around £20 per room bed and breakfast.
p.s. The food is excellant and if you drop them a line tell him Callumn said hi.

It has a good location (though nowhere in Cavelossim is very far from the beach/shacks/restaurants) with a lane leading down to the beach. It's a larger hotel (2 star) than PG or SD and although it has a swiming pool it is very small. It's sister hotel is Gaffino's however from what I can gather there has been a dispute over ownership of the Mobor Beach which has been in the Indian legal system. Personally I would go for the Palm Grove or Sao Domingo's over the Mobor Beach as you will get a far more personal service from Laurence or Edwin (owner of Sao Domingo's).
p.s. (quick edit
) Have just had a look in the hotel review section and having looked around the Mobor Beach the review is pretty much confirms what I expected.

That's great
Laurence is a great host (great price as well). Maybe one day we'll be there at the same time and can raise a glass (or three) to Goan hospitality
p.s. Any questions on Cavelossim etc. just ask I have posted this link elsewhere but I have also created a couple of photo albums of our last two trips on http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/goanjock/my_photos

Can any of you Dona Sylvia experts help!
I have just found a package with the german company Neckerman, B&B for two weeks from 23rd Dec costing Euro 3974 for the two of us, I think that works out around £2750. Is this a good price considering it is Christmas and New Year , and so is much more expensive than the rest of the year.
Any help would be appreciated,
lassi
