Hi we have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Corfu but it didn't start off great and I thought I would warn others about what happened to us as it could happen to anyone.
When we arrived at the airport we went to the desk to find out where our transfer would pick us up from and the girl at the desk told us we had been double booked into our chosen hotel and that they were taking us elswhere in our resort. We weren't very happy about this as we had booked 6 months ago but thought there wasn't a lot we could do about it. They took us to a different hotel which they said was the same level of accommodation but when we arrived it wasn't great at all and at the other end of the resort to what we wanted. The rooms were very basic and it was on a road and not near the beach like our original.
We stayed the night and the next day we went to look at the hotel we had booked to see what we were missing out on-it was fabulous! We then noticed our names on the wall next to a room number and when we spoke to someone in the hotel they said they had us down as a no-show. We were livid. They said we could move hotels but it cost us over 20 euro and we missed lots of our first day repacking and unpacking.
Please be aware that this goes on.
