A Fethiye Times correspondent was fined recently because she was driving but didn't have her driver's licence with her. she had 7 days to present her documents in Turkey. You must have all car papers plus your licence with you at all times when driving and passport if you are british
Fine was 75.75YTL if paid in cash on the spot but 101YTL if not paid immediately - so don't forget to take the paperwork with you. if you are not sure ask when hiring a car or other motorised transport
Just as in UK, it depends I suppose on who you get!!
yes thats right if they are trafic cops they tend to be a bit harder and then you can get stopped by the jandama which want to see all sorts im not saying this will always happen but it is turkish law to carry at least you passport with you as a driving licence the old type dosn't have a picture not that anyone looks like there passport photo this is just a guide line
