Hi! I registered last night, to the best of my knowledge without any problems, and was told to sit back and wait for an e-mail notification to complete the process. Normal operating procedure.
None arrived.
I attempted to log in again today, and asked for the e-mail notification to be re-sent. Again, nothing happened. However, this did not seem to faze the system, which happily let me in as if nothing was amiss, and allowed me to post to a thread, which I did.
Is there a glitch there somewhere? I half expected the e-mail notification might take a while if it had to be manually approved, but there has been plenty of time between registration and now to do even that.
There appear to be a problem with our email system at the moment. You were probably manually activated which has allowed you to post.

Thanks. I'm assuming there's some kind of probationary period before PMs come onto the menu. Otherwise I'd have done this privately through one of the admins. But anyway I figured it would be worth asking in case nobody knew about it...
