The weather in the Greek Islands at this time of year is very touch & go, also the resorts are starting to wind down, so not everything would be open. I would say your best bet short - med haul would be Cyprus, Egypt or perhaps Tunisia.

Ive been to Cyprus before and loved the place, I dont particularly fancy Egypt and I certainly wouldnt go back to Tunisia Im afraid!

Im wondering if my best bet would be to just go with Dom Repulic as hopefully the weather should be ok. Ive been to the Caribbean before in Sept and October so Im guessing the weather will be pretty much the same for Dom Repulic.

Canaries have some really nice all inclusive hotels, good weather throughout the year and only a four hour flight.

just returned from riu bellvue port el kantaoui tunisia (11 oct) good a.i. hotel and lucky to have temps around 30 deg .very little around hotel, further away a small marina which had restaurants and shops but found no entertainment other than 1 (irish)pub. hotel animation team drove me round the bend jumping about for most nights. if your happy to sunbathe use bowling greens, facilities etc , eat well but sit in silence drinking the evenings away, go there.
