Loads of places near to CSM for good food, my favourites below:

Cavala - excellent continental menu and lovely staff

Kim Fah - chinese, good food, fast service

Lazy Days - great mix of goan, indian and continental in a nice relaxed atmosphere

Britto's - great seafood, indian, continental and goan food, great service and reasonable prices

Franks - Never had a bad meal, steaks are fab!!

Pop Joys - great tandoor food, wide selection of indian and continental

On the rocks - tried it once last year and really liked it

Equinox - indian, goan, continental, great food, good service and very reasonable too

There are hundreds of others that I could put on the list - have a look at the stick above

Can definitely recommend Lazy Days. Got to know the owner Adolf whilst staying at CSM. We pre-ordered fresh king prawns and lobsters which he bought and prepared the following day. Fantastic especially with fresh parley and garlic sauce and mash.

There a great BBQ place on the Baga road (left as you walk away from CSM) that usually has lots of locals dining there. (It has a separate tandoori oven at the front near the roadside). We preorder a whole tandoori Kingfish and ate that the following evening. Delicious!

I never had a bad meal at all whilst there. The food at CSM is excellent too.

As the csm is situated really close to the beach, i suggest eating at some of the many beach shacks! they're great :)

Big Banana beach shack (1st on the left from CSM path) is fantastic!!! The food is always top notch, hot and plentiful. If you like steaks you'll love Big Banana. Francis the owner also has a restaurant situated at home in his garden!!!, lovely setting and again the food is fab - It's called Franks and is situated down the lane opposite Shooters Bar.

The best restaurant in goa is a meer 5 minute walk away, Le restaurant. Classy french food at a fraction of the price. It's down the lane next to Shooters which is 5 mins up the road if you turn right coming from the CSM. Also try the fast food places, really just roadside shacks which sell tandoori chicken an dexcellent curries, 10 mins up the road towards calangute there are 2 excellent one side by side. for during the day, get a taxi or bike up to Ashvem beach and visit La Plage the sister restaurnt of Le rsetaurant, much the same only right on the beach and open all day.

Tried After 8 and wasn't impressed, but everyone else raves about it, short taxi ride to candolim.
Fiesta is quite nice althoguh overrated in my opinion.
Apple Pie is supposed to be really good, every year I say i will try it and don't! Both of these are on the road down to Titos again 5 mins from the CSM.
