Hi all,
I believe there is a two day excursion to Egypt to see the pyramids and the Cairo museum. Does anyone have any info about this trip? Like where does it go from, how much it costs, would it be suitable to take my two daughters aged 7 and 13. How do you get to Egypt? how do you travel to pyramids and the museum, is it by coach, if so how long are you on the coach for. Sorry for all the questions. Plus where do you stay for the two nights. And finally, ive always wanted to visit Cairo museum - is this trip worth it do you think?

Anyone got an idea of the price of the 2 day cruise.
I'll have to wait until next year asmy next trip in September will only be a week so I don't want to lose two days.
I can tell you the flight option is currently CY£195 pp and the cruises are about CY£175 pp pre-booked (Cheapest rooms on board etc). At the moment I think that they arent much cheaper - if at all - in resort.
I think its Tuesdays and Thursdays mainly.
mmm interesting!
My advice would be go with Regency Travel then. No excuse for poor service - especially before a company even have your custom!
Yes I was thinking that myself! nearly 5 days and no reply. Do you have a website for Regency?
Jaimec - here's the link, but I thought you were enquiring for the flight day from Larnaca.
So we arrive on the Wednesday and she has requested Mon/Tues/Wed of the following week for the wedding.
The day flight might be better if it departs everyday or Thurs/Fri.
I think im confusing myself
Thanks
Does anyone have an email address for Regency Travel? I've looked on their website but they don't show one. They do say on their site that it might be possible to book a day flight to Egypt on another day if Tuesday is not suitable.
Thanks a lot

Thank you for your email regarding cruises or flights to Egypt from Protaras. We are happy to arrange either one for you and herefollows a detailed discription - the price can vary depending on the time of year and the number of people in the cabin.
Cruises
All cruises depart from Limassol port - Monday, Wednesday or Friday.
As example -
Dep Monday - 1430 hrs and return Wednesday 1100 hrs.
Meals are included on the cruise, evening meal and breakfast - there is a cabaret show, casino and all cabins have windows and shower and toilet.
The excursion will be - Egyptian Museum - Pyramids - Sphinx - papyrus factory - Nile Cruise.
Please also bear in mind that the transfer time from Port Said to Cairo is approximately 21/2 hrs there and back - which should be taken into consideration if you have children with you.
Approximate Price - for a Grp E Cabin would be CYP 220.00 Per Person during September - October. including tax, transfer, excursions with guide & entrance fees.
Flight
Cairo by Air departs from Paphos Airport - 8am Tuesdays and Thursdays - 50 minute Airbus A320 flight with breakfast outbound and light snack on return . An escort from Cyprus accompanies the whole day and your coach and guide are waiting at Cairo airport to meet you. Journey time to all attractions is no more than 40 minutes -

Price CYP 205.00 Per person. including taxes, entrances fees, all meals.
Please note for the flight we would have to take passport details prior to departure to arrange the one day visa. The flight is very popular and spaces are limited, therefore it is advisable to book in advance.

Yes, Thats the exact same one day flight trip that Regency Travel are offering but with seemingly better service (Judging on e-mail response times) and CYP 10 cheaper to boot.
I know who's getting my custom
I know there are tours from Larnaca because the local travel agent we booked with in Paphos offered it to us if the Tuesday trip didn't suit.
The other operator also using the same flight was Louis so it maybe that they charter from Larnaca. Maybe worth a try. There were people on our flight though who had left their hotels in Protaras at 4.30am, so why would they do that if there was a local flight Might account for the 10Cyp price difference in transporting you all the way to Paphos. Anyway, good luck with your enquiries.
Stendec - You will probably find it cheaper than 195 if you book with an agent in Paphos and you'll still be accompanied by either Sea Island or Louis guides. You'll have a fabulous day, the pyramids are truly jaw-droppingly amazing.
Are you sure it will be cheaper over there? I asked exactly this question on here recently and the replies were that the cost was almost exactly the same online as they were in the agents in Paphos (Where we are going to be staying).
Also, its a limited numbers trip and it could well be booked up as they only run one a week on Tuesdays (I believe thats the only day of the week any company does this trip unless they can get enough for two trips occassionally).
How much have you seen it for in resort? I'm going in September by the way - so there might not be so many tourists about and therefore not so many deals on offer? What do you think?
Hi STENDEC, we did the trip by air from Paphos on a Friday, which seemed to be available in some agencies but not all. This was in March so it might have changed. Thomsons trip (tuesday) was full, despite us trying to book the day after we arrived, but the rep very kindly asked his Airtours friend if we could have places on their excursion. This was run by Sea Island who we found were excellent. The price was 195 CYP the same as most agencies round about. If you can get Friday we were told it is the better day, as it is the Holy day in Egypt, therefore less traffic in Cairo. Personally I would book in resort as you can then compare what is on offer, you might get a better deal.
Do Sea Island Travel have a website? I cant find it on Google. Friday would suit me better too, but I assumed it was only available on a Tuesday.
Hmm more research needed!
Cheers
Mark
However, they say that their flights are only on Tuesdays with the possibility of an extra one on a Thursday if there is a sufficient demand, which of course they wont know until nearer the time. We are going in early October so I'm not holding out much hope for there being queues of people for an extra flight . Looks as if our only choice might be Sea Island but I'll keep watching this space.
