i usually buy asda smart price things like that and just leave them there last year ,iron £3.59 and fan was i think around £4 . and there not heavy i had the fan in my hand luggage and the iron in the case it worked out a lot cheaper even bought one of the fans for the house ,
You can buy one of those really big stand up fans for about £10 in the big supermarkets, I think Marmaris has a Tansas so have a look in there. I'm sure it would cost that much or more to hire. You could just leave it int eh apartment when you go.
you can buy fans everywhere in turkey thats not a problem and they are not to expensive
hiya, i lived in marmaris last season and place me n hubby rented had no air con so we bought a fan from kipa (which is really near club anastacia) for about 20 lira! when my family came we went and bought another one however the apts they stayed werent happy, the maid told them we had it and they made them pay for it as if they were using air con........i wasnt happy, but then on other side of it electric in turkey is really expensive, when i stay with my inlaws they tend to turn fan off when i fall asleep lol and are careful and you cant blame them, my friends bfs mum wnt even let her use hair straightners as they use 7 times as much electric and obv turkish wage are less......hmmm........i just thought apts were bn sly though but i got hubby to sort them out lol and my fam ended up paying for 1 weeks rental instead of 2.........really i think it will be hit or a miss, you can take your own but be prepared to pay, i guess the thing to remember also is these places are only getting commission too so they need to make thier money up somehow but i still feel hard done by!x
You could always hide it in the wardrobe when you go out
i like your thinking kedi thats exactly wot i told my family to do but they couldnt be bothered with hassle, but at £50 for 2 weeks rental i would chance it!!!x
I bought a small fan from a carboot sale and put it in my hand luggage, very light. As said the owners dont like and may charge you extra for electric,I hid mine in the cupboard during the day so the cleaner didnt see it,I do pay for aircon in the bedroom, and use the fan in the lounge area,it cost me £2,a bargain.
I had no idea electricity was so expensive in Turkey though! Last year, the a/c and electricity worked by putting your swipe card/room key in a slot. My tesco club card was same size so I used to leave it in the slot when we went out so the room stayed nice and cool for coming back in. I noticed the maid would remove it if she was in so it must have been to save costs for the hotel!

good for the maid..I am still surprized that in this world of trying to be responsible for our environment...actions like this still go on...
Think GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The key to reducing your carbon footprint is to reduce your energy use and waste! Global warming causes are at the top of all of our minds, so let's get started.
Turning off lights, TVs, computers and stereos when not in use will reduce your CO2 footprint and save you money.
Think about it this way: if you were going shopping for an hour would you leave your car running? Of course not!!
So why leave the lights, A/C, or TV on when you leave a room or go out of the house?
Adjust your air conditioner, so that it cools to a warmer temperature in the summer.
Turn off lights and the TV when you leave a room. We are used to leaving appliances running even when we don't need them.
Appliances that run unnecessarily:
"¢ Draw energy
"¢ Cost money
"¢ Create carbon dioxide
In the immortal words of Kermit the Frog, it's not [always] easy being green. I care about my environment and keeping it around longer for future generations..sorry for the rant..I need it..
