All the other ones you can, so that would have to be the exception.
I can't say you will not need your passport or ID, what I can say is I've never been asked for any ID in a shop or supermarket when paying using a chip_n_pin card.
Yes you can, they normally ask for id and a driving licence is fine.
chip_n_pin card means no more carrying id
Last time I was there (end of last year to be fair) they were still asking for id!
Was in Barcelona last week and all the stores asked for it (Il Cortes Ingles, Springfield, Bershka)
