European Heritage Days in the Old Town of Rhodes !!
On Sunday, September 25th 2011, five important historic buildings open their doors for the public. The opening is just for this special occasion, normally the buildings remain closed. It concerns the following monuments:
1st Kastellania (information center, on the Hippocrates Square)
2nd Agios Georgios Monastery
3rd Ottoman mansion
4th Agia Triada Church
5th Former Ottoman Court
All buildings are freely accessible. They are opened just for once, on occasion of the European Heritage Days in Rhodes, an initiative of the Rhodes International Culture & Heritage Society. You can recognize the participating buildings by the blue European Heritage Days flags. In each building, you can read about its history and volunteers are available to answer your questions.
