Hi
Could some help us with a query.
We are going on a weeks cruise on the Destiny in July and would like to take Thomsons organised excursions to Florence and the one they do in Sardinia.
I know these will be long days, but thats not a problem.
Does anyone have any experience of doing these two trips?
Many thanks.
Sue
Hi - we did the Florence excursion - one good thing is that it took us up above the city for a panoramic view - probably wouldn't have done that if we were on our own. Unfortunately it poured when we were there and we decided to leave the tour guide and do our own thing, as she wanted to press on inspite of the weather - unusual for us, as we normally enjoy the guided tours. Our trip didn't include lunch, but we have been on trips which included lunch (eg Rome) and found them to be good value.
Many thanks for your reply.
It seems to be a long day, 10 hours I think. Did you think it was worth the long day, what did it actually include, what did you see.
Finally, what time did you get back to the ship?
Many thanks
Sue
I think its a good way of getting to know a city - it is tiring, but they get you back in plenty of time for dinner - can't remember when.
Its the early starts that are the worst.

Four years ago we went on the Spirit and went on walking Rome tour, which we thoroughly enjoyed, and would recommend to anyone, but that was a full day starting at 7am i think and we returned approx 6pm - 6.30pm. I presume this will be a similar start and finish time.
