the little fairground in th epark does appear to still be there.

very hot just now and i'm sweltering in the heat

Think there is some confusion and people are talking about two different fairgrounds.

The main fairground was on the promenade by the main beach, it had a ferris wheel and quite a few rides and this has been dismantled.

There is another amusement park in the street that leads down to the promenade with some craft stalls and one or two rides, which seems to be the one mentioned in some of the above posts.

But the main one on the promenade has definately gone.

Also dont know if this ride is still going on in the smaller park but a few years back they had shetland type ponies all harnessed into a contraption like a roundabout. People sat on the ponies that were made to walk around in circles all night. It seemed really cruel and although my children were very young even they didnt want to try it out. hope its gone!

I was answering a qwuestion which I was asked to answer before a certain date which concerned the fairground in the park. Don't know if the ponies are still there as we haven't ventured out after dinner due to tiredness.
