Hi,
Already thinking ahead to 2009 and would love to try somewhere in the Far East. However, not too keen on very long flights. Has anyone got any examples of flight durations to some of the closer resorts please?
Thanks, Shirley
I'm afraid all the Far East is long haul for us Brits. Look at about 12 hour flights anyway. I hate long haul too but its worth it
We did Mexico this year. The 10 hour flight was just about bearable but wouldn't want to go further. Oh well, I'll have to cross that off my list.
You could have a stop over in Dubai if you fly with Emirates to Bangkok
I found the journey to Bangkok felt a lot shorter when we changed at Dubai. We had about 2 hours to wander around the airport( and that is a great airport for shopping ). So even if you didn't want to stay overnight in Dubai its worth investigating Emirates.
Many flights are on 747's and 777's to the Far East so the planes feel more roomy and the service levels are usually higher which makes the flight a little more bearable. Anyway as far as I'm concerned its no pain no gain...the destination makes it worth all the flying hours.
no pain no gain
if you've been reading the thread on General Holiday Enquiries re long haul- thats just exactly how I look at it as well
I've had a couple of DVT's and I'm still prepared to make the journey...its that good.
Also would I have to fly from London (I live in Wales)
Sunbear- now there's dedication.
From Wales your talking Heathrow or Gatwick or Birmingham to fly to Dubai. Manchester if your in North Wales.
After the disaster Far East flight I've had with KLM airways I would suggest that any long haul flight with them is avoided.
