The osiris or as its now called the calella palace is one of the hotels i would rather not be placed in , but in saying that it wont spoil the holiday as we only use it as a base. As for Ferris selling out there flying arrangements could be part of it , or is that Mr Ferris is retiring and the family no longer want to responsibility of taking over ?
If and when he does sell out then i would like to say thank you for all the happy holidays we have had . We have always found Ferris to be very obliging and helpful with any query we have had.
i've always had great service from all at ferris, particularly when i had to rearrange a holiday at short notice due to the death of a very good friend.
the resort reps they have are also very knowledgeable.
i hope they are not selling out and look forward to travelling with them in the future.
just been with ferris for the first time to be honest i do prefer siesta but you pay for what you get ferris was about 400 pounds cheaper the thing with siesta is they offered cheese toasties and hot beef sarnies which where brill if you dont like the food from the french services unfortunatly ferris only do cold drinks, tea , coffee drinking choc , cuppa soups and pot noodles but you ve got to be quick.on my return home i phoned ferris and asked why they did nt do more food and one of the directors told me they need a food licence and obviously there is the risk of food poisoning which is fair enough so my advice is to take plenty of crisps sarnies etc and think of what you can spend the money you ve saved going by ferris
Spoke to a driver on sunday coming home from malgrat about the ferris sell out rumour, and it settled my mind, there was an offer made by someone to ferris which was rejected, infact it was laughed at. the buses alone cost £400,000 each. thank you mr ferris once again for a trouble free holiday.
£218 all in for 7nts in Palafrugell, and it ain't in the small chalet, it's in a Phoenix 8. Add to that the fact that instead of picking me up at a set pickup point, they will pick me up at Harthill services on the M8 which is only 12 miles away from my house, and will save me a good 15-20 minute journey to the nearest pickup point!
Interbrava, i doth my cap once more .... you just can't beat it!
Heard from Ferris customer that you have to put up with 5 or 6 hour stints before drivers stop and let you out.On the return journey from Calella driver wouldnt let people off when he stopped for fuel and toilet stank! Cheap price shouldnt mean shoddy service.
Totaly agree with you Mark. And thats part of the reason why i am not going by coach this year . I found the journey very hard going last year ,due to not having the amount of stops or being allowed off. As for the toilets smelling what anoys me is the fact that people wait for the coach to arrive get on and once the coach pulls of there is a queue for the toilets, same with the meal breaks at services, as soon as they get back on the coach they all want to toilet. I can appreciate children doing this but adults no, i have used Ferris coaches to Spain 9 times and never used the toilets on board .
This year we are having a total change and flying to Murcia and then renting a friends apartment. The flights are less than £200 each - excellent price for school holidays, and the price of the apartment is very reasonable so in total it's costing very little more than a coach holiday to the sun.
That's not to say I won't brave the coach holiday to the Costa Brava again some day in the future!
I enjoyed my journeys with Interbrava last year, not so sure i'd be so happy with Club C or Siesta, but if i pick something cheap up in September, i won't be to fussy!
ANYONE GOT ANY UPDATES FOR COACHES THIS YEAR 2010?
The only thing with Siesta is the hub system especially on the way there. Your travelling from Glasgow from 2.30am and are settled then they kick you off your coach after about 5/6 hours to go on your coach to resort.
Helen
The only thing that puts me of travelling by coach is if you get a group of badly behaved passengers onboard ..Its a long long journey if that happens !
In 6 years travelling with Club C and Siesta I have never experience badly behaved passengers
the staff's attitude was thar he was very tired so best just leave him
that was one reason i don't use club c.
edit, sorry, meant to add that i've never had a bad journey due to passengers being too boisterous.
Just for the record I have never experienced bad passengers either I was just making the point that if there was bad passengers onboard its a long period of time to have to put up with it !!
