Hi I have just been told I have won a weeks holiday to Filfia with third class travel on Air Malta ( does this mean I will be in with the bagage ) once there, there will be a rowing boat to take me to the island, the other problem is I have to bring my own tent and sleeping bag.
The people running this holiday told me I will have an explosive time! do you think I should take this holiday?
Dave
Just make sure the Royal Navy is not nearby and a warning that any loud bangs may not be thunder.
interesting ! I thought the island was closed to humans ??
Hello again, I have been told that there is a old church there used by the fishermen and some good bird spotting, are there any good bars and restaurants.
Filfla is a big rock jutting out of the sea on Malta's South Coast. located approximtely 3 Miles from the Blue Grotto, it is home to an abundant amount of rare species of flora and fauna. Filfla was very badly damaged during World War two when the British forces used this rock for target paractise. The area is totally uninhabited and is an official nature reserve.
So in reply to your question. No there is no church or bars or restaurants on Filfla.
There used to be a chapel, built inside a cave in 1343, but it was destroyed by an earthquake about 150 years ago.
Shame on the RAF for using Fifla for target practice if it is home to rare flora and fauna. I suppose in those days this issue was of little importance but it sure would be now!
