Hi all,
I'm hoping that you can help.
We are thinking of booking our first cruise to the Med.
Our dilemma is, do we book with Ocean Village or either Royal Carribean/NCL. There are pro's and con's to all three as far as we can see. OV is great because we don't have to worry about tipping.....this really get's my goat! But we are worried that we will be disappointed in the ship and for the extra couple of £££'s we should go ahead and book RC or NCL.
Anybody cruised in both of these categories? I know that you should expect more for your money, but is there really much of a difference?
It is such a lot of money to spend to be disappointed and we don't like to rough it when we go away for this reason.
Thanks for your help
Having used each category you mention, my advice would be go with RCI or NCL. Tips are only $10pppd, and are nothing on the cost of the superior product compared to OV.
It may be that with some reseach and help we might be able to help cut what you think you have to spend.
There are a number of factors when getting the best out of each type of cruise line here are a few.
Initial cost(cabin type location not all ships are equal)
Esential spends(tips/extra cost meals)
Booze (prices vary across lines, not all offer AI)
Itinerary
Transport(fly or ex uk)
dates(probably the biggest variable after cabin)
Give us some more idea of what you are looking at/for.
