First time to Cyprus

Just looking for a cheap holiday at the beginning of May for a week. Is Protaras OK early May or should i look elsewhere? We are a youngish 55 and 57 year old and go to Goa every January,but we need a break!! I am looking at Antigoni hotel,Tropical Dreams and Andreotis apartments,Does anyone have any comments on any of these? We like a variety of different places to eat,be within walking distant of a decent beach and shops,but NOT close to rowdy bars or clubs!!! Eagerly await your replies.... Paula

We've been to Protaras a few years ago now and found plenty to do of an evening without it being 'in your face'. I can't remember what time of year we went, although we normally go around June time as hubby doesn't like it too hot.

May is usually hot enough to be in the pool during the day :-), some people like a cardy at night...
