Hi,
We have just found out my son is going skiing in the February 08 half term and have decided to sneak in an extra hol to somewhere warm with our 12 year old daughter. We have decided on the Sharm area but have found with booking this late for school holidays that there isn't much choice! We are looking for AI in a 4* minimum rated hotel with kids club facilities and preferably a la carte dining options. We have narrowed it down to the Reef Oasis or the Ghazala Gardens (I'm aware of the bombing in 05 and this is not an issue). However, some of the reviews on the GG rate it poorly for food and the reviews on the RO often refer to shabby rooms. Can anyone help us choose?

I have not stayed at the Ghazala Gardens hotel but it is more central to Naama Bay and at a push you could walk into the centre of Naama Bay rather than relying on a taxi from the Reef Oasis. Taxis are extremely cheap, approxmately 5 to 6 pound return.
Thanks for that Sutty. Pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay as we decided to book the Reef Oasis in the end! How did you find the food there?
The choice of food was vast. Breakfast included:- cereal, yoghurts, fruit, danish pastries, croissants, waffles, omeletes, fried eggs, bacon (although not like english bacon), bread rolls, toast, jam or marmalade, cooked meats and cheeses.
Lunch included:- pizza, chicken, fish, spaghetti bolognase, pasta dishes, salad selection, fruit, cakes, plus many other items
Evening meal included:- freshly made pizzas, pasta dishes, choice of meat (beef or veal), chicken, fish dish, salad selection, fruit, cakes plus many other items.
We did not eat our evening meal in the main restaurant (next to the Piazza Bar) as the tables were mainly set out for larger groups and as there was just myself and my husband we chose the grill restaurant or the italian restaurant.
We also found that a small tip at the beginning of your holiday ensured that you got a nice table and drinks brought to your table.
In the Piazza Bar (open 24 hours) the waiters are very friendly, again a small tip and you never go without a drink.
I would highly recommend this hotel and hope that you enjoy your stay.
We will be returning to this hotel in the future but have booked to go to Mexico next year as we have travelled to egypt 4 times in the past 2 years.
Sounds lovely - will look forward to going there in February. The food was the only thing that concerned me a little and you have put my mind to rest. I will make sure we don't book the Moonlight though!
I'm sure you will have a great time in Mexico. The standard of hotels there far surpasses those in Europe - we love it there and have been to the same complex of hotels (Iberostar Paraiso) 6 times in the last 5 years - even got married there last year!
