After reading this forum for the last couple of years and picking up some excellent advice and tips from all you regulars I have finally got around to posting for the first time- so here goes!!
We have been holidaying in Cyprus for the last 5 years, two to three times a year, but have never eaten in a 'proper' fish restaurant. Can anyone recommend such a 'Plaice'
I seem to recall from previous posts (Years ago!) about there being such a restaurant near the Coral Bay Hotel??
We have been holidaying in Cyprus for the last 5 years
You and me both, love the plaice
My very, very, very favourite fish restaurant is The Seagull almost opposite to McDonalds on Poseidenos Ave. Not cheap, but then again you only get what you pay. Why not have a look at http://www.seagullcyprus.com.
There's also another owned by a fisherman, but I can't for the life of me remember the name, next to the Amathus Hotel that I can highly recommend. Perhaps someone else can remind me.
Only 69 days now before my fish fix :D
Just tried to view this page as we are off to Paphos in July with our seafood mad 10 year old son but it says the website declined to shown this website. Is it so good they don't want to share it with us????
Any further about this restaurant would be greatly appreciated. We are staying at the Alexander the Great and if I remember rightly(although it is nearly 12 years since our last visit) it is also on Poseidonos Ave.

Spotted the problem with the link...too many dots
Thanks Pubdog
Mandy - turn left out of the Alex, past the Annabelle and it's just at the bottom of the hill. They'll make you very welcome.
Wow, a 10 year old who loves his seafood, brilliant.
I brought my son up to appreciate good fresh food and now he's a very talented head chef in a very posh country house hotel. Sadly he no longer lives at home
Hope you enjoy revisiting Paphos.
Thanks Mark and saintscully, I know the Seagull well and have ate there quite a bit. I don't normally choose the fish dishes but this year myself and the present Mrs Bonker is taking the Father-in-law with us and he just loves fresh fish (although once he's been on the ouzo I'm sure he would be happy with a fish finger sandwich!!)
As for him enjoying seafood, I like to think he got his brains from me but perhaps its what the experts say and it's 'cause he eats lots of fish!!!!!
Mandy
As for a lad who loves fish....I think thats wonderful, and to be encouraged. Hope you have a great holiday.........and the Seagull menu looks great.

We've been to the Seagull twice.
Food is fairly bland and you pay for the view rather than anything else. Walk a 100 yards inland to where to locals eat and you'll pay a fraction of the price for far better food.
If you hire a car get across to Latchi and have a meal at Y and P's Taverna. Reputed to be the best fish restauarant in Cyprus and I know that people drive from as far as Nicosia to eat there.
It's right on the edge of the small harbour there and the fish is about as fresh as you'll get.
Their seafood platter is almost a meze on its own.
It's got me licking my lips now.....only 7 weeks to go!
