Hi,
I booked to fly to Bangkok this Christmas(2007) with Etihad airways through airline-network.co.uk, flying out of Gatwick to Abu Dhabi on the 20th December 2007 and returning to Gatwick on the 3rd January 2008.
I booked on the 8th February and received my invoice by email immediately but no E tickets, i checked my flight was ok with checkmytrip.com and it was listed perfectly, i waited a couple of days and then emailed customer support and have had no reply.
Today, a week later i checked the airline-network website and it said e tickets had not been issued yet, so i checked the online itinerary and they have moved me from gatwick to heathrow, changed days to the 19th December departure and i now have a 14 hour wait in abu dhabi, all without informing me.
I rang their customer support and she says its the airline thats changed things, checkmytrip.com is now showing the different flight departure/airport/day.
The customer service woman says this is major changes and i should ring another customer services 0870 number, but its permanently not answered or you are in a queue for ages and no one answers.(your business is important to us) yeah yeah.
As i paid by credit card i assume i can cancel without loss as this can only be described as major changes or is it ???
Booked with Etihad to fly to Bangkok in August from Gatwick through travelbag.
Noticed a change in times two weeks ago on checkmytrip and again 5 days ago. Minor time changes of flights - nothing major.
Then yesterday Travelbag rang to tell us we will be travelling 12 hour earlier from heathrow.
We rang Etihad direct today - extremely helpful and apologetic. They said etihad had pulled out of Gatwick. We also explained that this would cost us more as we now have an extra nights accomodation to pay for - now arrive 10pm instead 10am - and we have to travel to Heathrow and pay for car park/alternative travel. As we live 5 minutes from Gatwick this is an inconvenience to us. If we had wanted to travel from Heathrow we would have booked from Heathrow.
Etihad offered us a full refund if we wanted - although travelbag never gave us this option. They have agreed to pay for a coach transfer from Gatwick to Heathrow (124.75) but say they cannot help with accomodation.
Try ringing etihad direct.

Payment by Credit Card only gives you additional protection should the company go bust. You can then claim back from them.
Rather than spend many hours listening to Vivaldi, and the faceless person who keeps telling you they value your business.
Send them a letter. Use the "Signed For" service that way you know they have received it. It would be reasonable to give them 14 days to reply.
Do not send emails as there is no guarantee that they are going to get it. A technical itch and it is lost forever.
Your complaint is not unusual when booking so far in the future.

problem i have is that the heathrow flight lands in abu dhabi at 0720am and the bangkok flight doesnt leave until 9.55 PM, a 14 hour wait.
i have sent a message to etihad through my etihad guest account.

Hi,
As its a major change of Day/Airport/Airport waiting time, i would assume that i can go to my credit card provider and say, this is not as sold and not as invoiced, and claim through them and they then make a chargeback to airline networks account.
There are two flights a day from abu dhabi to Bangkok.
We are lucky the new times still only have a 90 minute stopover at abu dhabi.
Last year we flew with them and they changed our return flights giving us either a 14 hour delay in Abu Dhabi or return flights to Heathrow. If we took the 14 hour (which we did) they offered us hotel accomodation, meals and drinks. It broke our return journey up and we saw a bit of abu dhabi.
I would ring them direct, they are very accomodating.
We booked with them as we found them great value for money.

You would need to convince them that you have a valid reason for them to chargeback. They would spend time investigating your claim before doing so anyway, you need to speak with the supplier before you make the request.
You could put yourself in breach of contract by stopping payment. As I have said if you cannot do it by telephone then do it by post.

i flew with them at christmas in business class and it was brilliant, it was worth the extra money
seems its true that etihad is pulling out of gatwick

i checked expedia.co.uk this morning and they are still showing the etihad gatwick departures for december, i rang expedia and they rang etihad and confirmed no more flights from gatwick.
airline network rang me 30 mins ago and put me on better flight times with no real wait at abu dhabi
even better the heathrow flight from abu dhabi has a rubbish A340-300 with 47inch seat pitch in business but checkmytrip.com are showing that
the plane at xmas will be a new A340-600 which is on order to arrive some
time in 2007(4 on order for etihad), so its my guess they will have better seat pitch spaces than the 340-300
