Refer to our dedcated First Choice and Thomsonfly (Thomson Airways) threads over on the flight forum where you'll find loads of information about the aircraft. This question comes up quite a lot so you'll find plenty of opinions. We use the Thomsonfly thread mainly these days because First Choice as an airline no longer exists as they've now merged with Thomsonfly, and become Thomson Airways in May.

In my opinion, if you are happy to pay the extra, then yes it's worth it. The extra seat pitch (3") and perks that go along with it are very nice. However, it's my opinion that the standard cabin provides everything you need and I'd rather save the money and put it towards a nicer hotel and get the benefit for 1 or 2 week(s) rather than just the duration of the flight, or on activities in-resort. You can upgrade the IFE in economy to the premium package for £5 and you don't have that many drinks to get your monies worth. With the rule changes, you only get 3kg more luggage allowance (I get 5kg extra with my diving qualifications anyway). The dedicated check-in desk is good though to beat the queues. Don't get me wrong, the premum cabin is an excellent experience (not too keen on the purple glow of the mood lighting though), but I'm not so sure it's value for money when the standard cabin is perfectly adequate. That's just my opinion of course.

I'm with Darren. We haven't experienced the upgrade but we too are of the opinion that the standard class is sufficiently comfortable to not need to spend so much more on premier class.
