I'm a bit confused about what has ahppened here - can you provide us with a bit more detail and clarify the situation?

1) Is your nephew an adult or a child?

2) When you say that you amended the booking and got another apartment, do you mean that you booked an extra ie third apartment in addition to the original two or that you changed one of the 1-bedroomed apartments for a larger 2 bedroom apartment?

3) When you say that you would lose your free child place, do you mean that prior to changing the booking you had a free child place for a different child who was on the original booking and that this is now being withdrawn or that the TA is saying that your nephew is not eligible for a free child place?

4) Has the TA told you exactly what this extra £200 is for? Is it because you have to pay for him because you can't get a free child place for him? Or is because you have requested a bigger apartment and are now liable for an underoccupancy supplement?

5) Is the TA now saying that the flight is overbooked after already issuing you with an amended booking and contract or are they saying that having tried to amend the booking for you that they can't because there are no seats left on the plane the rest of you were originally booked on?

A lot is going to depend on whether they have actually issued an amended booking, stating that you now have the bigger/extra apartment, that you are all on the original flights and setting out what extra charges are to be made and what those charges are. If they are asking for £200 extra over what you paid for the original 2 family/2 1bed apartments in order to amend the booking then there's a good chance that's right - there are limits on the number of free child places available and/or you could easily now be liable for an under occupancy supplement on on a bigger apartment (it's sometimes cheaper not to take a free child place but simply pay the adult price in order to avoid such supplements).

However, if this £200 is an additional charge they are now trying to make you pay over and above anything you've already paid to add him to the booking then you might be on stronger ground. However, you do also need to check what admin fee they charged/are charging you for amending the booking. You would need to check the terms and conditions re amending bookings - TOs usually charge between £25-£40 for this and you need to know whether they are applying that to everybody on the original booking, just those who will now be staying in the larger apartment or whether this is simply the additional cost of adding you nephew to your booking.

sorry for confusing,we have been in today and guess what its now £14 extra

my nephew is paying as an adult so that got us an extra free child place
we got another appartment for him
the problem was that there was no free child place left on the plane so we would have to pay the child price.

not sure now but she as looked into the booking again and we just have to pay £14 extra
which is ok .but what i was trying to get at is the tour opperator made a mistake so surly they should have to pay the amount not us.

thanks for replying
