Flight Only / Airline and Airports

Hi,

I'm just starting my Florida June 2009 research! And need some help please!

I've found a great flight price with Broadway (£778 for 2 adults) - but the flights are with Monarch! Having been to the Maldives I've heard some horror stories from those who flew with Monarch. (We flew Thomson) Any opinions welcome,

Also, I've heard Travel City Direct are relatively cheap. Does anyone know whether you can just book flights with them? Online it adds a car, which doesn't seem very competitively priced. How do Monarch and TCD flights compare? My husband is 6ft and would hate me if he has zero legroom....!

Thanks a lot,

cejay8,

refer to the dedicated Monarch thread for more details. Travel City Direct use / are part of XL Airways (XL Leisure Group). XL should have their new Airbus A330-200's in operated by the time you fly. Given MON are quite basic, ie no seat back IFE and 30" seat pitch, XL's new aircraft might be a better option depending on the price (30-33" seat pitch with seat back IFE). You may also want to try Thomas Cook, First Choice (Thomsonfly), Virgin etc.

is it advisable to book flights as soon as they come out or do you reckon they will have 'sales' looking to go to orlando next July
thanks in advance

iloveholidays1703,

The price of flights is governed by demand / supply so if sales are slow, they'll tend to drop prices 3-4 months to the departure date. However, I would probably book sooner rather than later for Orlando in July. It's the peak season (school hols) and flights normally get booked up quickly for July / August. If you see a price you are happy to pay, book it then don't look again!
