IFyou are flying to the US you must ensure that all your electronic devices have some charge remaining. Anything uncharged will not be allowed onboard. You may be asked during screening to turn them on.
Taking it a stage further, BA has announced that if you have uncharged or broken electronic devices you will NOT be allowed on your flight.

Passengers are advised to arrive in good time for check in, main security area and boarding gates . You may be subject to additional searches or questions.
edit - BA have not done a U- turn and will allow you to take your flight, but not your uncharged devices.
