I think it depends on where you go though as resorts tend to vary a bit. We went to Turunc last summer and found both there and Marmaris a bit more expensive but maybe that was because we didn't know the best places to eat there.
Hi we eat at the Locanta's most of the time as we like trad Turkish, average around £10 for two adults including tea coffee or soft drink, Pide places around £6 for two, this is in Dalyan.
What is traditional turkish? Like curries and things...
local places tend to serve sheesh and adana kebabs, loads of meze, salads bread, soup, casseroles in pots or flat bread pizzas and wraps, steaks, fish, seafood.....
They also serve some really great vegatable dishes, to accompany the meal, very tasty, locantas usually found in the back streets, you will notice lots of locals eat in them.
There was a restaurant named the Jasmine that was doing 2 meals for £9 and the portions were huge. They also did English breakfasts for £1.We never had one as we had breakfast in the hotel.
Sunday dinners are available for around £7 and the size of the Yorkshire puddings are amazing.
On our last night we had a 4 course meal in a sea front restaurant and they cost 14.90TL(chicken main dish) and 23TL(king prawn main dish)We didnt have one bad meal in the 2 weeks we were there.
If you look on Icmeler on line there are many photos of the different types of dishes available.
Best of all the Efes was only 1TL in some bars
Mixed Meze starters
Calamare
Garlic Prawns
Grilled Sea Bass or Bream
Excellent food and good value.
When we are in marmaris our favourite restaurant was George and Dragon on the beach front...4 course meal for 18ytl, and because there was a large group of us this year (9) 3 of the children ate for free...plus we had a "fishbowl" thrown in as well..... the food is always out of this world!
thanks for the advice, pleanty of options to choose from!
