We had a hire car anyway to get to Valencia and sorted tickets in advance through the official Valencia website.
Sorry couldn't be any help regarding anything organised but as I stated above you will be fine going with your girlfriend to Valencia.
Barca are close to winning the league and Valencia have won it twice in the last three seasons!!!
http://www.metrovalencia.com/metroval/html/plano/plano_red.htm If you cant get a ticket consider going anyway,Valencia is a lovely city, I have just come back from the week long fallas festival, so could tell you where the best bars /places to go.
Have you considered catching the train? It would be much cheaper. On arriving in Valencia Renfe there is a metro station (Xativa)right outside, you get off at Aragon or Amistad for the stadium
That sounds like a good idea the Spanish football ossociation rules make the clubs sell 4% of the tickets for every game at the ground on the morning of the game so I would be best to go in the morning get my tickets enjoy the city then go to game in the evening.
I have enjoyed several day trips to the city, with and without children, and would fully recommend it.
We have just come back from Benidorm and the Valencia matches were advertised at our hotel reception - the Mediterraneo and I also saw them advertised at the Castilla when we called in there. The Barcelona game was definately advertised but I didn't check the availability as we came home today I don't know how much it costs but the advert says it includes coach travel to the game.
Hope you have a great time.
i am due to visit Benidorm next year and was wondering if anybody can tell me the nearest football team (either primera liga or segunda liga) to Benidorm, as i would like to do a stadium visit.
also any details on how far away from Benidorm and how to get there etc would be most welcome.
ta.
the nearest BIG team is valencia which is about 140 kilometres away you can go on the toll road called the A7 and it will cost about 10 euros each way for the toll or take the N332 for a toll free and more scenic but longer route.
cheers
i dont drive though.
any ideas on transport?? trains etc??
or a nearer team. 2nd division is ok. how far is alicante??
Depending on when you go, you could go and watch Benidorm play. It's not a stadium to just go and visit though!
you dont happen to know where i can find a link to their fixtures do you??
i have tried all of the sports sites i know and no joy as they are quiet low down.
they do have a website but i dont speak a word of spanish and would not know where to start.
Second division = Segunda DivisÃÂÂÂon

Sanjiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
they seem to be in the 6th tier of spanish football. there is primera liga, segunda, then another one then segunda b group1, group 2 and group 3 which benidorm are in.
any idea where the benidorm ground is in relation to any resorts?
anyone got any links to a public transport journey planner for benidorm??
similar to traveline.org.uk that we have over here?
it appears i was talking rubbish.
the "premiership" equivalent is primera liga
the "championship" equivalent is segunda liga A
the next tier is segunda liga B which is divided into 4 groups, separated by regions.
the top 4 teams from each group at the end of the season go into playoffs and the 4 winners replace the 4 relegated teams from segunda liga A
sorry.
it appears i was talking rubbish.
Don't worry...I talk it everyday
Right, I have no idea about the different Spanish ligas, I'm a Real Madrid woman myself.
Doing a bit of delving, it seems that Benidorm football ground is near to the train station, and it doesn't appear to be a very big ground (capacity) although I may be talking rubbish here myself, but their website is cr@p and gives very limited information and is desperately in need of updating.
So, you can go and watch Benidorm at their ground if they are playing at home whilst you are in Beni, by checking the fixture list as per my previous post......or...get on the train @t Benidorm to Alicante and go and watch Alicante C.F match in a stadium that holds 29.500 spectators.
Alicante football stadium is called El Rico Perez and is situated on Foguerer Romeu Zarandieta...expect to pay between €60 and €110 depending which stand you go in.
I'll post some more info including maps later....the last time I typed all this out, I closed down the window by mistake and lost the lot

That's a lot, don't think i'll be going there.
Sue
40 Euros is about £26.00 and that's about what I believe it costs to see a team like Man United, @rsenal or Chelsea.
The 110 euros must be for a seat in the directors box.
I'd want to bring the box home for that price
Sanjiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
I find those prices hard to understand. If you look at the CF Valencia site for ticket prices (a much bigger club) they seem to average about 30 euros for league games. The prices vary quite a lot for other games (usually a lot less).
