Hi,
As the title suggests we now have persuaded some good friends to join us on our holidays to Turkey. The problem is,our friends couldent get booked into our apartments (Golden Orange is fully booked)and as we had already booked, they had to choose one close by which turned out to be the Club Julian which apparently is close to our Apartments. My question is this,do you think there is a chance we could visit each other during the day/night during our stay at each others Hotels/Apartments, or will we be turned away (as I expect)and simply have to make do with meeting up away from our respective Hotels ?
Cheeky request perhaps...but having never been to Turkey before, all I can do is ask ?
We had friends stopping in Marmaris last year and they visited no bother, As the accomodation is SC anyone visiting normally uses the hotel bar for food/drinks so brings money to the hotel. I think a problem would only arise in SC accomodation if you were reserving a large amount of sunbeds for people not staying at the hotel.
Hi,we had friends staying in another hotel when we visited Marmaris,it was okay to visit them as they were half board but they couldn't visit us as we were all-inclusive.As Laudan says it might be a problem if they were to use sunbeds that were meant for guests of your apartments. We were out most days as the weather was not very good,so didn't want to sunbathe
As has already been stated, so long as you buy something whilst visiting each others apartment complex then there shouldn't be a problem. The Turkish people are warm and welcoming, respect them and you will get it back ten fold.
Agree it shouldn't be a problem. The Turkish are quite laid back, and certainly in Turunc will welcome you anywhere with open arms especially if you are going to spend some money on drinks etc. I presume it is the same in most resorts.
I have never known it to be a problem. When I lived in Turkey I would often go into hotels if I had friends or family staying there and it was always fine. As has been mentioned, if you are going to be thare a while buy a drink or something and you will be welcome.
it will be no problem at all we stayed in the alpina and ate a few times at the orange and used there pool. however i would say the julian is quite a walk away from your appartments. the alpina is very close and very good.
What a breath of fresh air Turkey seems, unlike other countrys where your not made welcome at all once they have your money.
Yes, you will find Turkey quite different to other countries in that respect. The people are very welcoming.
Have to agree it is like a breath of fresh air when you first go to Turkey. You will find that Turkish people go out of their way to make you welcome. If you go in a restauant and ask for something they haven't actually got, it's not unusual for them to nip off down the road to get it! We used to sometimes ask for a banana for our grand-daughter when she was a baby to keep her happy while we were eating our dinner, and I can't actually remember anywhere where they didn't manage to conjure one up from somewhere!
Exactly, Alfie - they do go out of their way to make your holiday special. I've quite often see staff nip out to get something which a customer has requested specially. It also amazes me how they manage to remember names and faces from one year to the next, even when you've perhaps only frequented their restaurant once! I think the genuine warmth and friendliness you get from the Turks is second to none - and is probably one of the main reasons why I keep going back time and time again.
I think as long as it isnt an AI hotel there is no problem.
The rest of our party are on half board at the Julian. Btw..Did you just meet up at reception so to speak and vouch for each other, and if so,where you allowed to you use facilities such as the pool so long as you purchased food/drink at the Julian..?
As you can probably guess,we are all still a bit nervous about doing this, and so are our friends.
Believe me we have been loads of places in different countries when we have been in this situation.
I think as Jaytrip says as long as you are not all incl. and not doing anything like sneaking food and drinks to "outsiders".
If people use facilities, spending some money on the premises and not depriving other paying guests of sunbeds etc. there shouldnt be a problem. Out of common courtesy you could say that you are expecting friends to visit and I am sure they would be made most welcome.
We stayed at julian a few years back and you couldnt just buy food etc with money but had a prepaid card i think it was(cant really remember what),and had to put money upfront on it ,so your friends would have to pay for all the food/drinks you consume on the premises anyway, that was on the s c basis anyway, dont know if anything changed in that department lately
We get the picture now.
