This paper tells "porkies", there is also an article under their property section called Filthy Lucre - and that says we can purchase property in Goa when we have done our 182 days. It fails to say that the Register is closed to FN and people are only getting tourist visa's, and others are being asked to leave Goa
Unless theres some cheap Emirates flights , which have just started this month - but I doubt it.
Obviously theres been some good research, is Goa not downmarket for The Sunday Times
Here's a link if you want to read the article, can't afford the newspaper-

If he flew in via Mumbai and stayed at the Lemontree he was obviously on expenses Had a mate stay at the Lemontree and it wasn't worth £120 a night!!!
5 or 6 weeks ago i booked for goa after receiving an offer by e-mail, i couldn't refuse from coop travelshops. a total of £360 per person for 14 nights B&B at the osbourne in calangute. i admit its not my first choice of hotel, but for that price, i don't care!!
its also with a company i've been to goa with 3 times before and trust."SOMAK".
so keep looking for the cheap one. BOB
Polly50 and her hubby and myself and hubby and my brother and his wife were lucky enough to get goa next march for st patricks day and easter for £279..B&b in calangute ...... Thankyou polly for telling me about this brill deal ....colleen
Really sorry colleen, but we got ours £3 cheaper each than you, at £276. Bit their hand off when they told me the price. Well, who could refuse at that price! Staying at Somy Resorts in Calangute. Got it off Thomas Cook web site. Unfortunately, for others, it seems they have all gone at that price now.
with that big saving polly the least you can do is stand me a beer or 3
I'm missing out as well Alan !, could be because I won't stay in Calangute, has anyone got a deal like this for anywhere in the south ?
We went 2 years ago just before Xmas for £279. Booked it about a month before. That was before they introduced all the add on charges though like £60 fuel supplement.
And was your tent nice on the beach Sim?
It was a named hotel too and had free AC ! we had a great time. Better still we had originally booked Cancun which cost a lot more but a hurricane flattened the hotel a month before we were due to go so we got our money back. It was a hasty last minute thing but worked out well. Goa cost a bit more this year though.
Sounds fine then Sim and a great bargain which makes it even better I like to know where I am going tho and know what the place is like. I would imagine there are a lot of dodgy places to stay in Goa and I personally wouldnt take the chance, but each to ones own
