Hi, has anyone got any good deals to share? looking for a flight only for 3 weeks from 24th Feb, ???
Many Thanks
I can only see prices from £470ish, charter and scheduled
BA to Mumbai for £348?
ive been looking as we're going back in march & theres no real difference in prices if you go last minute (ie: in a few days) or book for march, all seem to be around the £500 mark! i would have thought the prices would have dropped for last minute to fill the spaces but doesnt seem to be the case at the mo
oops made a mistake sorry!
We are off on the 8th March for 2 weeks from Manchester £380 each from Thomas Cooks which I thought a fair price.
Emirates Glasgow to Mumbai £350 return Jan till April then £40.00return Mumbai to Goa thats Spicejet. Air deccan is even cheaper. Really cheap for us north of the border as no travelling to Manchester or London. One stopover in Dubai.
BA from heathrow to mumbai 31/3/07 and then indian airlines down to goa, returning on the 15/4/07 £500 each.
As we also live north of the border ive put in a selection of dates from now til April 2007 and most prices are around £1000 return for two. The most expensive price I got was £1117 for 2 people. However, I did put in a date in February (when we next fly out to Goa) and the return for 2 folk on 3rd February was £753 which is very good.
We would maybe consider using Emirates as we are thinking of going to Goa next new year, but I guess the prices will be expensive at that time of the year (seems to be too far in advance to check on Emirates website just now)
We normally always fly out of Manchester, occassionally Gatwick, and it adds a lot onto your holidays for the return flights down there and hotel accommodation. As we live in Glasgow it makes much more sense to consider Emirates then we can pick the exact date we want to go and also the number of nights and much more importantly we wont be travelling cattle class.
I put in pudd4's dates into BA and got a flight for under £350. If you do it via Expedia their BA flights are dearer. We fly BA a lot as we live in Aberdeen and so can start the journey from here.
Oh dear ive just read back my previous post. What I meant to say is we are considering going NEW YEAR next year (sorry for the confusion). I think new year will be quite expensive. But we will monitor the situation as it would be great to fly directly from Glasgow. It does make much more sense from where you are as well Fiona as you can start your journey directly from Aberdeen to your connecting airport. I will have a look at BA also, thanks for that
Eventually after standing about an 1.1/2 at checkin they offered to put us up in a hotel overnight, but we said no, then they said they could put us on a flight to London and a connecting flight to Man. with free return flights to Dubai, which we excepted, so worked out ok in the end.
We flew from Mumbai to Goa with Jet Airways which was Ok, but all in all it was 24 hours from leaving home to arriving in Goa with hardly any sleep, and it took us a couple of days to get over the jet lag.
At the moment though this is looking the best bet, if anyone finds anything else - please post
Thanks Goanne
Goanne same thing happened with us two years ago. We had our seats reserved with Thomson holidays and pre paid before travel. However, when we checked in at fabulous Dabolim airport they had given our seats away. To make matters worse the check in attendant then proceeded to sit one of us in row 17 and the other in 4o something!!! After a few strong words from me we at least got seated together but not our reserved seats. Its just not good enough and unfortunately everyone at check in at Goa coudlnt give a
Its a lottery went this october with BMI Baby £600.00 each from Heathrow but when we arrived at check in their Airbuses had been grounded - some technicaL failure they transferred us to Jet, even although we had booked 3 months in advance we couldn't get seats together. All flight times changed - lost our luggage for 5 days left in London. On return 20 December we were transferred to B.A but they were fogbound so bmi at mumbai had to book us back on Jet. At the end of the day it depends on so many variables, weather, crew and time of year. Who cares as long as I get to Goa eventually -I'm happy. I do fancy leaving glasgow to Dubai its easier for us than south. We usually have a 4 or 5 hour wait in airport if we fly or car parking fees if we drive - for 8 weeks these can be considerable. Really just your luck. Loads of people love Opodo thats who we booked through we were just unfortunate. so hopefully will have better luck with emirates
