we stayed in th horizon hotel in calangute and that was nice, you got a good breakfast,
as for the beach shacks, its hard to say as everyone like a differentone, best it to try a few and see which you like best, the beaches again depends what you like,
we liked baga beach by the river, it was quiet and the beach shack did amazing food, larios(i think was the last shack on the beach if you walk from calangute beach to baga)

hi Lesley and welcome to HT :)
Have you had a look at our hotel reviews? Hopefully you will also get further feedback from members here.

I have never stayed at any of them but I went to India for a wedding several years ago.

The reception was at the Taj and my friends were staying there (not the ones getting married)....all I can say is amazing! Rooms were superb, grounds were lovely and the views beautiful. My friends said that they could not find fault with anything there.
Have a great honeymoon! :cheers

You could try the Riviera de Goa, its on the First Choice site although I am not sure if anyone else has it on their books too. A brand new hotel and looks very nice. It is situated near Ingo's market (outskirts of Arpora). A courtesy bus is available to transport guests to the beach.
