Hey guys, I'll be in goa this weekend with my girlfriend - We've done the big mistake of leaving it till quite late to book a hotel - partly because we've been travelling round india for about 3 weeks now. Our budget is about 3000 indian rupees per night and we are looking for a good hotel (with good bathrooms- the missus is really fussy about these!) in Baga/Calangute, very near to the beach. I know it's the offpeak season -so hopefully it won't be that hard to get a hotel!

You should have plenty with 3000 rps per night. The Colonia Santa Maria is in Baga and very close to the beach. Also the Sonesta on the Calangute/Candolim border is excellent with good standards.
Ask a taxi driver to take you to a few hotels with the criteria you want, but those two are worth a look.

Tip : To save money (if you're going to spend 3000 Rs/- a night then find an apartment, you should be able to find something nice for maybe 9,000 A MONTH!!!!! (with TV, Fridge, Cooker), if you barter they might throw in a maid, maybe 1000 extra for Aircon?
