As soon as I get off the plane I feel i'm back home, sit in my fave shack supping my kings and feel like i've never been away!
i like it because its a bit rough around the edges... when your on the beach you cant see proper buildings, only shacks, when your getting dressed there will be a power cut, all of the beds are rock hard but it doesnt matter, at night you have to take a torch out but you feel safe, the toilets are primitive but hey, toilet roll is over rated, you get pestered all the way to the beach by taxi drivers/fruit sellers/trinket sellers but you just end up getting to know them all as friends and once your at the beach the fun starts all over again.
you wouldnt put up with this anywhere else in the world but with Goa it is all part of the reason we go back.

I agree its the 'rough around the edges' that does make it so good and the locals make it the best place I have been to.

sun, sand, sea, relaxation and fantastic food 
When you get on the road from the airport and smell burning rubbish you know your back in your second home.
the very WARM welcome back you get each time you arrive, amazing people who make you feel so welcome
It is the best place to expect the unexpected and never be dissapointed
and the smells are what make us keep coming back 42 days to go
