The heat, the price, the locals, the culture, the buzz, the sights, the beer, the seafood, the diamonds, the relaxed atmosphere, the cows in the road (I still love that!!)... roll on March 08
It's just MAGICAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jules I am thinking of going in March 08 for the first time
Go for it spinner - you will be hooked like the rest of us - pure heaven
I can do better than that - I can tell it in one word: people
I have been in many beautiful places like ..... ok let it be!.... with warm climate and cold climate aso. but Indian people are making the place special.

Jules187 - the cows in the road - yeah, I still love that too - got so many photos of them and the cows on the beach at Vagator too - fantastic!
I know! There's all this hustle and bustle going on around them and there they are strolling down the middle of the road oblivious to it all!
Coz
Because its where you fall in love all over again....
It's the warmth of the people, the food, the beach shacks, the colour, the smell it all gets under your skin and also the lovely chilled way you feel when you return from Goa.

I like the way people remember you from the year before (and the year before that) and they come rushing forwards to shake your hand and welcome you back home (my eyes are tearing up thinking about it - daft old biddy!).
When you consider how many people the likes of taxi drivers, shack workers, shop owners, locals etc see and get to know in their 6 month holiday period, it always amazes me how they always remember your name
its just pure bliss.
I feel more at home in Candolim than here in the Midlands - lots of my friends (made there) are there for 4-6 months of the year. I had a great time in March and April this year.
sometimes a country may hit you in the heart sometimes wonderful food sometimes the people not often the whole lot
The way of life is so laid back, The children with big smiles on their faces, The dogs and cow's, meeting people who go back year after year, Tuk Tuk's, no where else is like it.
Huge selection of beaches, warm inviting people and vibrant culture....
